Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has vowed to crush the renegade
army general, David Sejusa if he dares attack Uganda, as he has
allegedly been threatening to do since he fled to Britain several months
ago.
Addressing a press conference Wednesday evening at State House in the capital, Kampala, Museveni referred to Sejusa as an army deserter who is supposed to be dealt with.
Following reports that Sejusa plans to overthrow the government, Museveni said force could not be used to take over power in the East African nation.
He said he is anxiously waiting for Sejusa to attack the country, so he is taught a lesson of his life.
'Let him come here. Let him dare attack the country," Museveni bellowed.
"He knows my address, let him come and attack me. We have been waiting for him for some time.''
He said that Sejusa, who is also an MP representing the army, has been trying to use parliament to evade the law, but he has been finally dealt with, as arrangements to expel him from the legislature were drawing to a close.
Sejusa fled the country to UK, claiming that his life was in danger, after he opposed an alleged succession plan, which suggested that Museveni's son, Muhozi Kayinerugaba was being groomed to take over the preseidency. However, the government has denied the existence of such a plan.
